My thoughts on Bush's immigration policy varied. The policy is to prevent immigrants from staying in the US without evidence of working. But I didn't agree with that because some immigrants could be coming to the country to take care of family or something along those lines and can't work. Also if they know that the rise of immigration jumpers is going to increase why don't they just hire more people to guard the borders, and have more security there directing immigrants form coming in the country. I also agree that we should give them a chance to live freely, after all its probably the main reason their coming to their coming to the US to have a chance of better living. It also broughtout how Bush never has a well thought out plan of doing things, how things need to be handle better than just putting out a policy. I also do not agree with the whole application thing, why cant they just keep working at the place thier at while and after their application is processes.

I read the "Detainanee Deserves Court Trails" and I read that a Muslim named Adel who has been locked up with no rights to speak in trail and was contantly tortured, and was unable to recieve pictures of his children. I thought it to be very sad, because he is innocent and their not giving him any rights at all. And it brought out how the courts will make mistakes and it has already made a few wiith the case of Adel. And the quy was saying if you went up to him and see his face and the way he acts "terrorist" will never come to mind.

From what I've read from the Debate I think that Kaine should have won even though they did not mention. But from what I read I liked how Kaine took the upper hand of the debate and vowed to have at least 50 percent of his ads to be positive, but Kilgore did not. Also I did not like how Kilgore refused to sign the bill to outlaw abortion if given the chance by the Supreme Court, so I saw that very stubborn on his part, Kaine on the other hand him being a Catholic is against abortion. I also did not like how Kilgore was going to handle the rape and incest situations how he was only going to give victims a week to report their problems, I found that to be very disturbing. I found Kilgore to be very arrogant, just after the debate without knowing the results has already declared himself the winner. Kaine on the other hand just calmly said that it was a "clear choice" So overall I felt that Kaine won the debate

Katrina's Silver Lining

I like this article, I strongly agreed with Mr. Brooks that of we rebuild New Orleans back to the way it was, and put those back into the same situation they were in before its not really helping them, but by moving them into areas that have the expectancy of people to go to school and to college it will motivate those who dropped out or had children and deprived them from going, by them being in the area which shows the nesccesity and the benefits will help those ones to pursue their schooling and learn new things. And being that we dont get many opportunites to help one another as much, instead of putting our guard up we should be open to helping such ones start their new life and help them cope with their looses.

Osama and Katrina

I basically didn't quite get where he was going with it very much, but I do agree with him as far as the way Bush is dealing with the whole situation of Katrina. I do believe that we should have a real policy of energy conservation.I was sort of confused the whole thing with Mr. Norquist, when he brought out how he wished that his porperty was on the levee that wasn't completely finished due to the lack of tax dollars, was he suggesting that the government should increase the amount of taxes taken out to prevent this from happening? It would have made sense to have taxed gas after 9/11, simply because it would have given us more to lay back on instead of putting so much out from our pockets, it would have already had been a fair amount to start from insead of starting from scratch
